Where did you grow up?

Out of the US, in the Middle East.

Who was your favorite teacher, and why?

My Chemistry teacher was my favorite one in high school. I loved Chemistry and the way she used to teach. She was my role model and inspired me for a few years to pursue a teaching career.

What inspired you to pursue a career in STEM/Healthcare?

Interest in human health and making a difference in others’ lives. Also, there are various opportunities in healthcare, such as working with patients or in a lab, traveling, or working remotely.

What do you do in your current role/career?

I am responsible for clinical studies in a pharmaceutical company; I have to supervise the studies and ensure the data integrity and correctness. Confirm that the study is performed based on regulatory requirements and submit reports to the FDA.

What were your moments of fear/challenges in your career?

The most challenging moment in my career is making a wrong decision. It does not happen frequently, but it might happen. I always own the mistake and try to take full responsibility and not blame someone else, try to use the resources to overcome and prevent damage, and finally learn my lesson.

What are some of the innovations in science that you are most excited about?

There are so many innovations in cancer treatment, including immunotherapy and vaccines.

What’s next for you?/What would you like to do when you “grow up’? (retire, etc.)/ what is something you hope to accomplish in the future?

I want to learn more and grow in my career. I’m not thinking of retirement anytime soon. I like to work and have a role in my community as long as possible.
